A tablet or phone
Android 9 or newer. Designed for tablets with a stylus, and it works with a finger too.
A survey device
Most digital cave survey devices, over Bluetooth. Or type shots by hand.
No signal
Nothing else. The app works fully offline, underground.

How do I keep my survey safe?
Everything is saved on your tablet as you go, and the app keeps daily copies. Still, save a backup after every trip to a place you choose, or turn on the cloud copy, so your caves live somewhere other than one tablet.
What happens if my survey device disconnects?
The app reconnects by itself and keeps listening. Shots taken while it was disconnected still arrive, with none doubled. You can always type a shot by hand.
What if the app crashes?
Your work up to the crash is saved. When the app opens again, it offers to send us the crash report by email. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
Is Subterra Vector made by a survey device maker?
No. Subterra Ops is an independent company and isn’t affiliated with any survey device maker.
Where are the privacy policy and terms?
They’re linked below and in the app, under Settings. In short, the app collects nothing, and your survey data is yours.
